Dave's B-day

I've been told, by my husband, that I am possibly the worst blogger ever... SO... I'm attempting to catch up in the next few days.

I want to post about Dillon's birth story but since I didn't blog when Davey Dawg was born, and since it's his birthday, I'll do his today instead.

My "official" due date with David was June 26th. I was induced on Thursday, June 25th. We were supposed to be at the hospital at 7:00 am so we got up around 5:30, showered, put on makeup (me - not Jeremy) and headed out. About 10 minutes from the hospital I started to get a little panicky... I wasn't actually sure I was ready for this. I may have been doing that thing where you cry but you are trying not to - so your eyes get extra red and look like a complete idiot. Yeah that was me.

When we got to the hospital they sent us up to the birthing center. I hightailed it to the bathroom and hid out for yet another 5 minutes because I wasn't quite ready for this having a baby thing. Finally, I knew I couldn't wait any longer and Jeremy was getting a little impatient. He was not experiencing the same panic that I was at the time.

After that everything went fairly quickly. The nurses got me hooked up to all the machines that were needed. My nurse was Sue (the same one we had with Dillon) and another nurse that I believe was training. Dr. Priddle came in and broke my water and they started the pitocin around 8:00. I think I started out dialated to a 3 and David was born around 11:45. Things went quickly and Jeremy actually almost missed everything!

After I got the epideral, I wanted to take a little nap. Jeremy decided want to take a little walk (or actually his pacing went from the hospital room to outside to the vehicle). I texted him when i woke up and realized I was dialated to a 10 and I wanted to push. He was getting so many other texts that he somehow missed mine and sauntered in several minutes later. He made it just in time to be around when I needed to start pushing - but I was a little worried for a bit!

David was 7 lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long. He's two today and I can't imagine our lives without him. I love you little Dave!

One of the first nights home with Dave.

Happy Baby!

Not such a Happy Birthday Boy... He just got up from his nap!

What a big boy! Happy Birthday my 2-year-old! Love you Davey!

Excess Love...

I've had this revelation today...

The past few weeks I've been slightly smothering my boys (Jeremy and Dave) with love. Dave pretty much is getting lots of kisses, snuggles, extra rocks (as in the rocking chair), and almost whatever he wants - to an extent. I'm actually usually a very loving person, but this has been even more over the top than usual.

I've come to the conclusion... I have some extra love in me stored up for this coming baby and it doesn't have anywhere else to go but to smother those around me. For the sake of Dave's cheeks and Jeremy's sanity (if you know Jeremy - he doesn't necessarily like to be OVER-LOVED) this little guy better come out and meet us soon so I can start giving some of this extra to him!

I seriously can't wait until he gets here! Maybe this is why so many pregnant ladies out there are a little over the top emotionally - their bodies are already getting ready to love on their coming children!
