Santa Scary?

Living in a small town can be great... They can be great communities to live in. We are just lucky enough that our town makes a successful effort to be a community with (a few, I mean we aren't talking K.C. here) things to do.

Saturday was the annual Christmas parade and Santa came to town. There was also a soup supper at the local Baptist church - which I would have loved but Jeremy is just not that into soup. The parade was a bit of a dud as it was around 13 degrees outside! I think there were 5 floats and I was impressed it even happened.

Santa came to the church at 4:00 and I was so excited! I was going to take Dave and he was going to love it... Well Dave did go but as for loving it? Not so much... See for yourself!

He (and I) did enjoy the candy and popcorn ball that the church gave each child that came to visit. Added bonus - we had the melt down in front of about 10 people instead of the 50 or more that would have been present if we were at the mall!

I guess we won't be leaving Santa any cookies this year... :(

Engaged!

I just received "that call" that you love to get from the people you love... one of my best friends got engaged tonight! She is a great friend and Joel is going to be a very lucky man. I can't wait to see them start this new chapter of their lives together! Congrats Rach!

PDA

There is one man in my life that likes to show lots of PDA, and it's definately not my husband! Dave LOVES to hold hands. He's usually very independent but the time he is confined to his stroller or carseat he has to be touching someone to be happy. Thus, walks with him include Jeremy pushing the stroller and me walking beside it so we can hold hands on our jaunts around Alta Vista.

Car rides might be the most interesting though. On a recent drive home from seeing friends in Wichita, Dave decided he was not going to stop whining unless someone was holding his hand. We drove almost all the way from El Dorado to home with me sitting in the front seat with my arm snaked into the backseat so he could hold my fast asleep hand! Hopefully all this hand holding is training him to be a sweet boyfriend/husband in the far distant future!

Just the "FIVE" of us...

As my first blog attempt I'm going to share some really exciting news... Dave is going to be a big brother! We are due June 13th, 2011. Kinda crazy because for a few weeks we'll have two kids under 2 years old!

We've been trying to tell Dave there is a baby in mommy's tummy but he hasn't quite figured out anything except my stomach is growing quite quickly. Maybe I thought I was a lot skinnier before but I definately feel like I'm A LOT bigger now. In any case, he's in for a BIG change... currently he is the center of attention at all times and I'm afraid that will be a big adjustment.

If anyone has any great ideas of how to help combat any jealousy prior to an acutal brother or sister being pregnant, let me know... I think I'll probably buy a baby doll and carry it around for a while to help out a bit but I guess he'll just have to adjust the best he can.

And if you were wondering... the current "four" of us include: Jeremy, Me, Dave and Bella - I'm not pregnant with twins!

I hope to get the hang of this and hopefully post some pictures with the next post!
